Privacy Policy
Effective September 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Mary Thomas, operating as Write Creations (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information through the website write-creations.com (the “Site”). We are committed to handling personal information responsibly and in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
Information you provide. When you submit the Speaking Inquiry form, we collect the information you choose to share: your name, email address, organization, event or conference name, preferred date, and any details you include about your event.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically receives basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request, and the date and time of your visit. We also use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that report aggregated visit statistics without identifying you. We may also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies only if you consent, as described below.
Your cookie choice. Your cookie preference is saved in your browser’s local storage so we can respect it on future visits.
We do not ask for, and ask that you do not submit, sensitive personal information such as financial, health, or government identification details through the Site.
How We Use Your Information
We use personal information only for the following purposes:
- To respond to your speaking inquiry and communicate with you about it.
- To discuss, plan, and arrange keynotes, workshops, and other engagements you request.
- To understand how the Site is used so we can maintain and improve it.
- To protect the Site against spam, abuse, and security threats.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We will not add you to a mailing list or send you promotional messages without your express consent, in accordance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Consent
By submitting the Speaking Inquiry form, you consent to us collecting and using the information you provide to respond to your inquiry, including contacting you by email. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to respond to your inquiry.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use an opt-in approach. Non-essential cookies are never set before you choose to allow them.
- Strictly necessary: your cookie preference is stored in your browser’s local storage. This is required for the Site to remember your choice and is always on.
- Analytics (optional): if you select “Accept all” or turn on Analytics, Google Analytics may set cookies (such as
_gaand_ga_*) to help us understand how visitors use the Site. These cookies are not set unless you opt in, and they are removed if you later withdraw your consent. We use Google Consent Mode, so until you opt in, Google Analytics receives only limited, cookieless signals (such as the page viewed and basic browser information) and does not store any identifier on your device. - Cookieless analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and reports only aggregated statistics.
Your choice is remembered for about six months, after which we will ask again. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer of the home page, or here: . Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies through their settings.
The Site loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details.
Service Providers and Disclosure
We share personal information only with trusted service providers that help us operate the Site, and only as needed for them to provide their services:
- Vercel hosts the Site and provides cookieless web analytics.
- Resend delivers Speaking Inquiry form submissions to Mary by email.
- Google provides Google Analytics (cookies only with your consent) and Google Fonts.
These providers may process and store information in the United States or other countries outside Canada. While it is outside Canada, your information is subject to the laws of those jurisdictions and may be accessible to their courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities. We may also disclose personal information where required or permitted by law.
Retention
We keep inquiry information only for as long as necessary to respond to you, arrange and deliver any resulting engagement, and maintain reasonable business records, after which it is securely deleted. Analytics data is retained in aggregated or limited form according to our analytics providers’ retention settings.
Security
We use reasonable physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. The Site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
